Like what they always say,the beginning is always the hardest for everything.
For the past half a year,i've been going to places understanding the crowd at different locations, studying my books, calculating time and again our budget. And most importantly, consulting professional help from people in the FnB trade.
Its very reassuring to find people who are so helpful even though im about to join them in the same trade. One special mention would be lance selling katong laksa at Holland Village.Honestly,Holland is probably the most challenging place to open any eatery with the sky rocketing rental prices. So i have to lift my hat off to him!Anyway from stranger to friends, hes been really helpful, patiently answering our enquires and giving us a lot of advises.
Ive lost track of how many times we have to start all over again from scratch and the many obstacles we have came across.Especially for a foodie like me,i have high expectations for the ambience, food and the concept of the restaurant.Needless to say, while planning for mine,i expect a certain quality too.
From planning the menu# like a chef#,thinking of advertisements and marketing portion#like a designer#,calculating budget and getting funds#like an accountant#,planning the restaurant layout#like an interior designer and lastly, location finding island wide#like property agent#.
Well,it ain't easy for sure. But,as the saying goes:
Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
I would say i'm much ready now after doing my homework. But still, theres more hard work i foresee coming my way and i can't wait to accept the challenges!Well, for updates,me and my partner have already decided on a place and i guess the day we are waiting for so long would finally be happening soon.
#keeping my fingers crossed#
XOXO
